LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB:  1913 -1914  TEAM

Seated: T G Fowler,  R A Lloyd,  F H Turner (capt),  R W Poulton,  G B Davey.
On ground: J Clegg,  H H E Royle,  E H Cowan.
R A Lloyd was  captain of Ireland in 1914;  F H Turner captain of  Scotland; and R W Poulton  captain of England.  Lloyd and Poulton were, of course, in opposition in the 1914 Ireland v England match; as were Turner and Lloyd when Scotland met Ireland.

Tragically the Great War then intervened, during which the club lost 57 members killed including, from the above, Turner, Poulton, Jackson, Ross and E H Cowan.  Other players killed included L A N Slocock* (England), and former club captains W S Turner and W S Montgomery.
