A remarkable 15 girls from LSH were selected for the U15s or U18s Lancashire County Squads at trials in September at Tyldesley RUFC.
Lancashire's U15s squad of 24 will comprise no fewer than ELEVEN girls from LSH and all four LSH U18s also gained selection....a staggering achievement.
Club Chairman John Bithell was full of praise for the budding stars. "This must be some kind of record. I can't think of any other club EVER having so many players selected for County rugby in one season. We are delighted with their progress and some of these girls could become VERY good players indeed".
Club Welfare Officer Trude Houghton also believes the girls could go a long way. "The girls are starting to take their rugby seriously now, and they will take some beating this season. They will be a VERY entertaining side to watch...make no mistake about that!"
The girls train at LSH each Wednesday from 6.30-8.00pm
