LSH SEALS 2010 WITH RFU APPROVAL (December 2010)
LSH officials are delighted with the recent award of the RFU’s prestigious Whole Club Seal of Approval accreditation.
Fewer than 50 clubs in the country have been awarded this status which recognises the effort and achievement of volunteers in reaching the required standard of a club committed to the development of rugby union across a whole club. The whole club Seal of Approval builds on the established procedures of Mini and Youth Seal of Approval introduced in 2002, to retain young players moving from youth to adult rugby, ensuring the long term sustainability of rugby clubs by ensuring high quality rugby provision.
The award demonstrates that LSH is providing its members with a safe, well organised and enjoyable environment in which to learn and play rugby.
LSH Chairman John Bithell is delighted with the award, particularly as it recognises the efforts of everyone across the whole club. “The club has significantly grown over the past few years” he said “with the help and hard work of a lot of people, all volunteers. We could not operate without them and this award is a tribute to all that they do”.
LSH have also worked closely with Rugby Development Officer Mark Sutcliffe and Community Rugby Coach John Foster and is grateful to them for their help. In particular the club has developed strong links with local schools at both primary and secondary level potentially leading to youngsters enjoying a lifelong involvement in the game.
It is understood that LSH officials will formally receive the award at Twickenham prior to the England v Scotland International in March with the Moss Laners planning a grand “end of season” celebration event involving everyone at the whole club in April.
