Phil Kearns, Club Captain

Phil is now in his second season as club captain having led the team to promotion from North Two West to North One, losing only one League match in the process. Life is much harder now, but he still leads by example to bring out the best in his team in what has been an injury plagued start to the campaign.

Twenty seven year old Kearns is now in his fourth season at LSH after moving to Moss Lane from Orrell.  Born in Wigan but educated in St Helens at De La Salle School, Kearns initially followed the thirteen man code playing for Thatto Heath Crusaders as well as having a spell in the London Broncos Academy.

He made an immediate impact when joining LSH in 2004 and has

been a first choice back rower ever since. He is currently occupying the number eight position although his versatility and pace make him equally at home in the number six or seven shirt.
He is an engineer by profession.

Director of Rugby Paul Woodward said “Phil gives one hundred percent, or more, in every game for LSH. He is a true leader by example.”
